Summary/Objective

  • This position works with a team to facilitate organization of Stone Mountain Access rental equipment, uses SMA trucks to deliver and pick up equipment, as well as completes general equipment repairs as needed.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain, warehouse, and inspect all power cords, wire rope, and other items which need inspection prior to being placed in the rent ready storage areas.
  • Maintain an organized and clean work area free from debris or items not needed for the immediate task at hand.
  • Use tools properly for their intended use and maintain all company provided tools and equipment in proper working order.
  • Ensure SMA grounds are free of debris and ice/snow.
  • Light building maintenance as required.
  • Transport equipment to and from worksites in SMA owned vehicles.
  • Safely operate a Class C vehicle for deliveries and pick-ups across the region.
  • Load and unload materials and secure cargo properly.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs, receipts, and related paperwork.
  • Follow assigned routes and schedules as directed by dispatch.
  • Inspect vehicle before and after trips and report any mechanical issues.
  • Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of assigned vehicle.
  • Communicate clearly with team members, customers, and dispatch staff.
  • Follow all DOT, FMCSA (if applicable), and Illinois State driving laws.
  • Always represent the company professionally.

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Valid Illinois driver’s license – Class C (Non-CDL) with clean driving record.
  • Minimum of 1 year of commercial or route delivery experience (preferred).
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in varying weather conditions.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety.

  • None required for this position

Work Environment

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud up to 50% of the time. This position is performed in all weather conditions with 90% of work performed indoors and 10% of work performed outside.
